Where We Are Now

We landed this afternoon at Ely KOA Journey, pretty much right in the middle of Nevada, elevation, 6500 ft. This is just a stop-over for a night, but it really is a nice campground. We plan to drive around this after and check out the town.

Where to Next

From here we're heading north to Idaho. Our first stop is a place called Anderson Camp. We plan to spend a couple of days there so we can check out Shoshone Falls and what's left of Twin Falls

Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, CA

Our Visit

Sommerville Almond Tree is an RV park located right off the I-5 freeway just about halfway between Sacramento and Los Angeles. We chose it because it was just about a hundred miles short of San Benito and we figured it would be an easy drive there, it wasn’t.

Somerville on the map burned     There isn’t really anything near the park so it’s good for an overnight visit on your way somewhere else. However, the campground does offer two small pools. The sites are full hookup pull-throughs which is a plus for a quick stay. We did see some residential sites, but they are kept up. The park was experiencing mole issues so there are holes everywhere and with a water shortage, not much grass. The campground is open to the public but we did get a small discount because it is a “Coast to Coast Good Neighbor Park”

Campground number sixty-five.

Our Park is full of color from Oleanders, flower beds, and the roses. Our interior roads are all paved and every site has a gravel pad and picnic table.
We now offer an Off-Leash Dog Park located on the East side of the park to exercise your Pets we just ask for you to clean up after your pet.
Our centrally located restroom/showers are just a short distance from any space. The showers have dressing rooms for each shower with lockable doors. Our restrooms are kept clean and sterilized at all times. Our laundry rooms are also kept clean and ready for your use 24/7.
If you are a walker you will be able to walk a mile with three trips around the interior road of the park. We do have a very close neighborhood watch so you can walk in complete safety.
We have recently updated the WiFi (Wireless Internet) to the park with three access points and two HughesNet ISP dishes. Signal strength is excellent throughout the park and designed to provide you free access to your email and general web browsing. We hope that you have the opportunity to visit us as you travel up or down I-5 and we are sure that you will enjoy what we have to offer.
